PROJECT COMPLETED: Nickel Plate Road 765

Another N Scale Train project I completed during my winter break was the Nickel Plate Road 765. This was one of the factors that delayed my Santa Fe Super Chief N Scale project. The reason I wanted to get a model of the Nickel Plate Road 765 because I actually chased it when it was in Chicago when it ran The Varsity from North Glenview, IL to Janesville, WS. I even got a chance to see it prior to the day of the excursion when it showed up at Franklin Park Railroad Days. Pretty cool to have a model of a train that I once chased. Check out my YouTube video of The Varsity Steam Excursion on my YouTube channel: A-Train4014 Productions. Welcome to the N Scale family, Nickel Plate Road 765!

The Layout

Want to see my N Scale Railroad layout? Check out my YouTube channel, A-Train4014 Productions that did an in depth look at my model railroad layout. It is definitely not completed but another potential video of my layout will be posted on A-Train4014 Productions later in the year. Check out the sights and sounds of N Scale trains including the scenery of my layout. Enjoy!

PROJECT COMPLETED: Santa Fe Super Chief

Over the holiday season, I was able to finally accomplish finishing the Santa Fe Super Chief project. It took a while to finish but I found the money to the point where I could afford the F7A and the F7B units as well as the 8 car set including an additional 4 car set. So far, the Super Chief runs great especially when I used the Kato Sound Box with it. Basically, I have two F7A locomotives with two F7B locomotives in the Santa Fe Super Chief consist. I was able to work with what was best. Either with one F7B unit or put both F7B units in the train. The most unique part about having an F7A locomotive was the ability to change numbers which are included when I purchased the locomotive. I'm glad I was able to complete the project because every person I knew had a Santa Fe Super Chief in their model railroad layout and I'm glad to be in that same group. It is definitely a "Must Have" train set to own because it is one of the most popular train sets in America.
